Untitled 2010
A great influence of mine is my grandmother, this work acts as a tribute to her and the relationship that we share. Consisting of Porcelain, Pewter, Fabric and Metal, I combine the materials which link us together but also highlight our differences. This work is approx 40cm x 150cm x 40cm
Sea of Chaos
“"Life is a balance between organisation and chaos…"Janice Arnold When i find myself slipping into a world of uncontrolled actions and overwhelming chaos, i turn to the throwing wheel. The controlled, precise discipline of throwing calms me and thus allows me to think and act clearly. The Sea of Chaos explores the juxtaposition of the meticulously symmetrical nature of wheel thrown objects and the chaos entering my life.

Callan Park Murder
This artwork is very similar to that of the previous. However this dress tells the story of a young girl who was murdered at the age of six in “Lovers Lane” within the Callan Park Grounds during the 1930’s.
This is a work in progress however my intentions with this work is to create a mixed media piece through the incorporation of ceramics, fabric, wire, wax as well as found objects. This child had her innocence ripped from her at such a young age; her life was over before it had really begun.
This work will explore the shell of her being, what she left behind, the ghost of this young girl. I have included pictures of what I have achieved so far; however I will keep this blog updated regularly on its progress.
My intentions with this work are to create a sense of unease and intrigue within my audience.
Disturbed fascination.
The Story of Lost Innocence
Thus not only are they having to deal with whatever the issue may be,for instance: abuse, death, illness/disease, drug and alcohol abuse, but they also become segregated, as they have no one to relate to their own age. These children become either harsher, stronger people or they can become very weak and unable to deal with the issues that life has in store for them. This particular work highlights their shell, the ghost of their innocence that has been left behind.
It is a work in progress but as soon as I have established how I will display this piece I shall upload the pictures immediately
SlyFox, Jewellery Line
SlyFox explores nature inspired and a really feminine range of pendants and beads constructed from Southern Ice Porcelain. These beautifully made works have impressions of particular rare laces and fabrics which have been passed down in my family. I have treated the surfaces witha range of under glazes, oxide and stain washes,as well as a thin layer of clear stoneware glaze. As well as producing a wide range of pendants, I have also created a number of necklaces each one is unique in design, colour and incorporation of different fabrics.
